05 · Our story
From a Laval basement to 65 countries.
In the early 1980s, Raymond Sansoucy, Mr. Canada 1979, ran his own gym by day, studied at night and built equipment in his basement, sometimes finishing pads at 4 a.m. to deliver them the same day. He built his first machine in 1982. Atlantis was born.
More than four decades later, the family company still designs and builds every machine in Laval. The standard set in 1982 hasn't moved.

- 1979Raymond Sansoucy wins the Mr. Canada bodybuilding title.
- 1982He builds his first machine in his Laval basement. Atlantis is born.
- Orders arrive from other provinces and the U.S. The shop moves to bigger premises about every five years.
- 1998Atlantis settles in Laval, where it still designs and builds today.
- 2019His eldest son, Jordan, joins the company. He now leads it as President & CEO.
- 2026160 people, 70,000 sq ft, 65+ countries. A bigger plant is planned for the end of 2027.
