Position overview
Since 1982, Atlantis Strength has machined, welded and assembled premium strength equipment entirely in Laval. Our CNC Machinists produce the precision parts, from cams and pivots to weight stack components, that give our machines their reputation for smooth, exact movement in commercial gyms across more than 65 countries around the world.
As a CNC Machinist, you will program and operate mills and lathes, hold tight tolerances on production runs and one-off prototypes, and work directly with our engineering team. You will join a unionized plant that values craftsmanship, offers stable full-time hours and invests continuously in modern equipment and employee training.
Key responsibilities
Program CNC mills and lathes from technical drawings and 3D models
Set up machines, fixtures and tooling for production runs and prototypes
Machine steel, aluminum and plastic parts to tight tolerances
Read and interpret complex technical drawings and geometric tolerancing
Inspect finished parts with micrometers, calipers and gauges to verify conformity
Optimize feeds, speeds and tool paths to improve cycle times and surface finish
Select, install and maintain cutting tools and monitor tool wear
Perform preventive maintenance on machines and keep work areas clean and safe
Collaborate with engineering to improve part designs for machinability
Machine one-off prototype components for the R-D team
Document setups, programs and inspection results for traceability
Follow health and safety rules and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required qualifications
DEP in machining techniques or equivalent training
Minimum of 3 years of experience programming and operating CNC equipment
Proficiency with G-code and conversational or CAM programming
Strong command of measuring instruments and inspection methods
Ability to read technical drawings in French or English
Availability for full-time day shifts at our Laval plant
